The Kanagawa Alliance of Dental Volunteers (KADVO) based in Japan, through its president Dr. Munehiro Yamamoto provides a new water tank to Batang Pinangga. This facility augments the water supply of the children, especially in the dry season.
Meanwhile, through friends Jörg Müller and wife Katrina and sponsors from Deutsche Bank Germany, and facilitated by Aktion Wasserbüffel, e.V., a carpentry workshop is currently constructed. This project enables the children in Batang Pinangga learn basic carpentry skills and use of carpentry tools. Jörg Müller and Katrina sell bags made of recycled materials to raise funds for the project.
Volunteers Anne-Katrin Fein and Manuel Lauter , both from Germany who stayed with Batang Pinangga from 7 November to 4 December last year, also helped in the fund raising for the other needs such as garden tools.
